Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage technologies Cricket Hub uses — in the website and in the Android app's web view — and how you can manage them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies such as local storage work in a similar way. Together they let a site remember information between page views — for example that you are signed in.

Categories we use

• Essential. Required for the service to work: keeping your sign-in session active and secure. These cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality such as your account.
• Preference. Remember choices you make — light or dark theme, your selected time zone, and your recent searches. Clearing them resets those preferences but leaves the service fully usable.
• Session state. Held only for the current visit: which tab you came from and the scroll position within it, so returning to a tab restores your view.
• Advertising and ad measurement. Set by Google through the AdSense library. In the configuration currently deployed this library is not loaded, so no advertising cookies are set: it is fetched only once a consent mechanism is in place. When advertising is enabled, Google may use cookies or similar technologies and device identifiers to serve and measure advertising, and may process the page address and your IP address, even where no advertisement is visible.
• Analytics. Google Analytics cookies are used only where the deployment has a GA4 measurement id configured and a consent mechanism is in place; neither is present in the configuration deployed now, so no Google Analytics cookie is set. Our own product events (match_page_viewed, article_read) are request data sent to our application platform and do not set a cookie in your browser.

Third parties

Google (AdSense, and Google Analytics where configured) sets the advertising and analytics technologies described above and processes the associated data under its own privacy policy. Google Fonts is used to load the interface typefaces, which involves a request to Google's font service. Cricket data is loaded by our own servers from third-party data services; those services do not set cookies in your browser through this service.

Consent

No consent control is present, and the consequence is that optional advertising and analytics are switched off in the configuration deployed now — the scripts are not loaded at all, rather than loaded without consent. A build setting is not accepted as consent: these libraries will only be switched on once a consent control publishes a runtime decision for that visitor, and honours a refusal and a later withdrawal, for visitors in regions that require prior consent such as the EEA and the UK.

Managing your choices

Every major browser and mobile platform lets you view, block and delete cookies and local storage for a site. Android also lets you reset or limit your advertising identifier — resetting changes the identifier that is used from then on; it does not delete information that an advertising provider has already collected. Blocking essential storage will sign you out. Clearing preference storage resets your theme, time zone and recent searches.
